Hi y'all, my name is Rachel Hubel. I am a senior solutions architect with Publicis Sapient. We're going to dive into Salesforce today and walk through creating and closing an opportunity.
So we're going to go ahead and navigate into Salesforce to our accounts tab. We're going to go ahead and click into the University of Arizona. Within the account, we can see the related list, the details list, as well as any relevant news associated to the University of Arizona. From there, we can navigate to the related, and you can see that there is currently one contact associated. If we keep scrolling in the related list, we can see the opportunities. If we go ahead and click into this University of Arizona portable generators, we then are taken to the opportunity app.
Just like any business, amount is important. We really need to make sure that we're updating the amount, as well as the stage associated with the opportunity, and when that opportunity might close. This really helps sales managers predict pipeline and staff and scale. We can go down and go into the details and see even more specific details, right? So we see the amount, as well as the expected revenue, close date. These may look familiar to the key fields up above. If there was an invoice or a purchase order that we received, we could attach it to this opportunity in this notes and attachment related list. That way, whoever's viewing this opportunity could see all of the information.
You can also see the stage history on the right-hand side, tracking that it went from a closed one back to a negotiation review because, you know, the sales rep got a little excited and closed one the opportunity just a little too early. Now we actually are ready to close one this opportunity. So we're going to go ahead and scroll up and we're going to click this little pencil icon, update the close date. After we update the close date to today, we're going to head and update the status to closed one. So we're going to go ahead and choose this closed one and click save. It's updating the information in the database and anybody in the system can access it. We also get some confetti because who doesn't love confetti when they close out a task for the day? The end. That's how you close one an opportunity.
