So in my first year I've had exposure to all three aspects of software engineering, front-end, back-end and DevOps. I've had the opportunity whilst being a software engineer to also handle the project management side of things. I've been involved with the strategy and the global rollout of the application as well as actually building the solution from scratch. A project I'm really proud of is my involvement with Viva Women. It's a business resource group we have for women and through the impact I made and the attendance we got for the events I was asked to be on the board and that's a really exciting impact that I've made.

SPEAKER: Anisha

What I love about PS's culture is that everyone is a person not an employee. There's a genuine focus on everyone's well-being. If you have a sick day, if you have personal leave, you're immediately seen with compassion. Not put under fire or interrogated. There really isn't a hierarchy. Senior leaders really do value everyone's opinions and you do get the opportunity to shine and say your piece. In my short time at Publisys Sapient at the moment I've been able to talk to the CEO and our vice president which is really astonishing to think about in hindsight. Say you want to change industries, you can completely do that and you can just voice it to early careers team and they will guide you through it. I do have weekly conversations with my manager. I also have bi-weekly conversations with the early careers team and I do ping them quite often and they're always there for me.

SPEAKER: Maria

My advice for incoming grads would be to have fun. You're a learner, no one expects you to know everything immediately. You shouldn't be scared about going into work and making mistakes. Everyone is really helpful and making sure that you're learning what you need to learn.
