Energy tech revolution is making noise. And we hear you loud and clear. Because we're inspired by you. The game changers. You shake the world. And your innovations that transform the future. To keep our cities moving forward. Our citizens thriving. And most importantly, our planet alive. Imagined. Questioned. Persisted. Created. Implemented. All in the name of progress. And now we're here to celebrate you. Welcome to the 2022 Global Energy Tech Awards. Welcome to the future.
Remain reliable, safe, and efficient, as well as charging, payment, and search solutions that encourage people and businesses to use electric vehicles. And the nominees are Ionet, AmpUp, Sharu Eco, and the Envelope Please, TECO. TECO, this one was already opened. TECO, this one has your name in it. This is not right. TECO, you weren't even nominated for this category, and you have to start a tech company first and accomplish great things to be considered for this award. How about the correct envelope? And the winner is Ionet. Ionet's patented technology enables affordable, reliable, low-carbon energy wherever deployed. Ionet was awarded the Future Energy System Energy Innovation Award, and reputable deep tech investors joined their recent seed round of over £3 million. The judges said that Ionet nailed down their technology and target market, and despite still being in their early stages as a business, they've made a huge impact, which is pretty much unheard of. The judges also said that they can see Ionet's solution having a super transformative effect within the distribution network operators, where they haven't benefited from innovation for a long time. Ionet's tech will indeed be adopted quickly. Congratulations to Ionet.
Our next award, the Best Smart City Solutions, celebrates digital solutions that allow for better interconnection, better use of resources, and lower emissions within a smart city environment. And we were looking for solutions designed with the citizen in mind. And the nominees are SoulSkin, Smart Green Station, Brainbox AI, and the Envelope TECO. Oh, this is the right one. TECO, if you had hands, I would high-five you. And the winner is SoulSkin. SoulSkin is an architecturally sophisticated, multifunctional, adaptive solar facade, which works as a second skin for buildings. SoulSkin's AI controls optimize a building's energy and increase user comfort by creating an ideal room climate while regulating natural lighting. The judges said they were wowed by SoulSkin because their technology is innovative and it looks and feels different. They said they could see European Union organizations being wowed by this product and installing it in their headquarters. The judges were also impressed by the fact that SoulSkin has come further along than other companies like them. Well-deserved, SoulSkin.
We're almost at the end now with the Best Solution Energy Trading category, where we were looking for tech aimed at supply, trading, operations, or risk management. For example, next-generation systems, platforms, and applications that keep the world's energy moving. And the nominees are B-Zero Carbon, Samawat, ABAX, and the Envelope TECO. Oh. Okay. And the winner is Samawat. Samawat has developed Optimal Asset, a software solution that simultaneously monitors the fluctuation in the renewable farm production and the dynamics of the wholesale electricity market supply, demand, and prices. The judges agreed that Samawat's technology simply made sense, adding that the issue they're solving has been crying out for someone to address for a very long time. The judges also loved the way Samawat is trying to leverage mathematical intelligence to solve such an important problem. Congratulations, Samawat. Many congrats to all of today's winners. Help me congratulate these winners in the chat box or by commenting below where you are watching.
We've now reached our last category, the Standout Performer, which is given to a startup that deserves special recognition for their extraordinary innovation. Before I announce this year's winner, let's see what last year's Standout Performer, Vintelligence, has been up to since winning this title in 2021.
So as one of our Energy Tech Award winners, I wanted to find out what's happened since you won the award last November.
Well, the last seven months have just whizzed past. I think the race to net zero is on. Companies are looking to deploy newer ways of working and newer solutions. And we have our solution now deployed in 20 plus countries. So it's growing, scaling very fast, both on network infrastructure for green energy and also for engaging the retail customers.
Fantastic. That's great news to hear. And what would you say are the key trends for next year for the energy industry?
I think the industry is facing a really big challenge in enabling greener sources of energy, solar, wind, offshore winds, battery. And the targets are getting more and more stringent. So the problems are only growing. However, given it's a common purpose, everybody wants to fight climate change, everybody wants to do their bits. It's great to see people come together to solve these problems. So the challenges that we see are how do you get more people, the right people to work on the right projects? Because the number of projects has kind of gone exponential. The workforce is still the same. They're not getting re-skilled or trained. We suddenly can't produce new people to do all this construction and asset management works, whether it's EV, whether it's solar, whether it's batteries. So those are the big challenges that the industry needs to solve. The one which is closest to my heart is safety and quality of works. You know, when we are working in a distributed network environment, it's very hard to manage and assure that the work will be done to safe standards and to the highest levels of quality. And I think that's the piece that we are very excited to solve for our clients.
Fantastic. And Kapil, finally, what's next for Vintelligence?
I think Vintelligence is slowly and steadily achieving its purpose of simplifying work, making it safer in a more sustainable way. So that core purpose will hold us. We are looking to go from our journey of hundreds of millions of smart video nodes to billions of smart video nodes so we can drive more intelligence and enable more people in the field to do their job safer and get it done first time right.
Great. Well, best of luck with that and do enjoy the rest of Vintelligence as well.
Thank you very much. Thank you.
And the winner for the standout performer of the year, TECO, the envelope, please. Wait. TECO, I think we're going to have a cleaning bill after today. And the winner who received special recognition as a standout performer of the 2022 Global Energy Tech Awards is Go Code Green. The judges were tremendously impressed by Go Code Green. They said that they're the true definition of using technology for good. In this instance, they're using their tech to help other tech become cleaner. The judges said Go Code Green's technology has the potential to reduce millions of tons of CO2 production every year as quickly and efficiently as possible. If there was ever a time the planet needed a solution like this one, well, there's no time like the present. In one of my motivational keynote speech messages, I share, when you see a need, lead. And the nominees and the award recipients are all leading by example in the energy tech industry. And we need more innovative leaders. I hope this award ceremony has inspired you to lead in a bigger way in all aspects of your work and life. Visit the awards website if you wish to stream the recorded ceremony, or if you'd like to share it with your network. TECO, you have been an amazing co-host. You're still here? It's over. Go home. Oh, you know, wait, you might already be at home. So log off. We're done. Oh, TECO, if you're still here, let's go dark.
