It does require communicating the basics clearly: what data is being used, what the system is doing, what its limits are and what choices the customer has. In chat, voice, service and smart-device interactions, that may mean simple prompts, clear labels, confirmation moments and accessible explanations that set expectations before the AI acts.

Clarity matters especially when experiences become more proactive. If a system is making a suggestion based on usage patterns, travel context, service history or device signals, customers should not have to guess how the brand arrived there.

5. Design for emotional intelligence, not just task completion
