You don't always need the newest technology to make a splash in tech. That was kind of cheesy. Hello, everyone. I'm Lou. I'm a gamer. I'm from Colombia.
Hello, my name is Josiah. My side hustle is podcasting.
Hi, my name is Madison, and I'm a content creator.
So having the latest thing that's out in the market, it's overrated. Definitely overrated. Like I have the same phone like three years ago. It works. We're working with that right now. A lot of them are incremental upgrades.
I definitely think that emotional attachment to devices is one of the biggest reasons why people get so upset when they have to upgrade their phone or when their phone's almost not working.
Waiting in line for a new device is definitely overrated. I waited in line once for something, and I stood in line for that like midnight, and it was freezing. And I think I fell asleep playing it. I got like 15 minutes of game time. I'm like, that wasn't really worth it.
It's underrated because if it's something you're passionate about, like it's totally fine. I was waiting for the Nintendo DS and was like a huge line, but I was so happy I caught it.
I've never stood in line to wait for any sort of tech upgrade. I'm not the most patient person, but I definitely appreciate those who do.
Having a protection plan is underrated. Like I should have one because I drop everything a lot.
Underrated. The reason that I had to get an upgrade on my phone was because I broke it. And if I had a protection plan, I would have been able to just really fix that up really quickly.
I think the majority of the reason why I don't have one is the money. I think they're a waste of money because a lot of times you forget you even have it. When you go into like a big box store and buy up, I don't know, a monitor or something, and they try to sell you a warranty, that's just to get more money right out at the gate. The only exception is like AppleCare. Wow.
Having faster Wi-Fi is underrated.
Underrated. You should definitely do that.
I think that paying for faster internet is overrated. I think internet should be a utility like water and gas. Everyone definitely should have access to internet.
Yeah. I think that smart fridges are overrated.
I think it's overrated. Refrigerator has one job, all right? That's to keep my food cool. It doesn't need to be smart about it, okay?
There's a lot of really amazing great things about smartwatches.
Underrated.
Underrated.
Underrated.
Underrated.
Underrated.
I think if you were able to turn your air conditioner on from a remote location like from your phone before you were able to get home, I definitely think that would place it in the underrated category.
Underrated.
No, wait. It's overrated.
Overrated. When friends come over, they just text me like, I'm here. They don't use the doorbell either.
Smart doorbells are underrated because a device like Ring, which allows you to see who's coming at your door and who's ringing your doorbell, I definitely think is great from a safety standpoint and is super useful.
Underrated using smart speakers. I think they're great.
Underrated. I have a smart speaker myself. I have an Echo. I really like that product. It allows you to be hands-free. We use it all the time. Just, hey, Alexa, how do I do this? The prompt is clearly defined as used to be. Oh, there she goes. And I definitely use it for a lot when I'm cooking, to set a timer. Time, remark, et cetera. We always mute the microphone when we are not using them. Idea, state, event.
I think that smart homes where devices are interconnected isn't super valuable, mainly because if there's anything, any sort of technology short out or Wi-Fi cuts out, then it affects everything in the house. Just mentioned or pointed out, supposed to be understood. Jesus Christ. Alexa, stop.
Okay, so my go-to, it's a clock. This is a Game & Watch that came out like six months ago, and it tells the time. Just tells the time and has some incorporated games, like retro gaming. But when you're streaming, you are not, like, you are invested in your game. So we lost track of time, and sometimes you just need to rest.
I'm still on my original microphones when I started this podcasting, which is this guy right here. And that was in 2018.
So this is a Canon, specifically a PowerShot. It's a digital camera. I've had it for over five years. You know, I stick not only with a brand, but with that specific device. There is definitely an emotional connection there. That was a cute picture.
