St. Luke’s Steps Into the Future of Digital Care
When care meets technology, conveying a focus on modern, tech-enabled healthcare.
St. Luke’s, Idaho’s largest health-care provider, embarked on a major digital transformation to make care more accessible and connected. Its patients often struggled to find the care they needed on the system’s public-facing website. Partnering with Publicis Sapient, St. Luke’s took a bold step to build a new human-centered, digital foundation that serves as the front door to a revitalized patient experience.

Imperative for Change
St. Luke’s 10-year-old website was running on a setup that was outdated, inflexible and unable to keep up with patients’ evolving needs. Patients struggled to find the right care option, a problem that only grew with Idaho’s expanding population. With a small internal digital team and an obsolete tech stack, St. Luke's needed a modern, more flexible way to empower patients, and it needed a partner to help.

Transformative Solution
Our multidisciplinary team—comprised of experts across strategy, product, engineering, experience and data and AI—worked closely with St. Luke’s to help build a new platform designed around the patient. We guided their move to Optimizely CMS, a HIPAA-compliant platform, with a headless implementation. We scaled the development efforts beyond the capacity of the in-house engineering team, following the standards they set. Modern workflow and digital asset management tools helped streamline and reauthor over 4,500 pages to support St. Luke’s brand refresh. We also used modular, tagged components to support agentic AI capabilities and cross-compatibility across devices. Slingshot, our AI-powered software development platform, accelerated this process by standardizing code across teams.
“Our work with St. Luke’s is a powerful example of how digital transformation can improve patient experiences, making it easier for people to find and access care when they need it. Together, we co-created a more seamless, human-centered digital experience that brings their vision to life and reflects our mission to help health systems harness technology for meaningful impact.”

Business Impact
St. Luke’s new, human-centered platform is enabling smoother patient journeys. A new care finder tool and modules—which integrate real-time data from Epic to display live information, such as wait times for urgent care—direct patients to the right care option based on their location and need, whether that’s an in-person visit with a specialist or an enhanced telehealth appointment. The new platform hasn’t only put power back into patients’ hands. It has reinforced St. Luke’s position as a trusted partner in health.
“This exciting work has helped St. Luke’s take significant leaps forward in optimizing digital experience for our audiences, especially patients and families. Even more exciting is that this is only the beginning of the digital transformation work we have planned.”
