SPEAKER A:
In the first episode, we talk about the intent of the organizations, how the organization wants to change their customer experience, their colleague experience in this new day and age, in this new world of agentic AI.
Now imagine if you took that intent seriously into the organization, what would that mean? Changing the organization to support that experience is what we're going to talk about now.
Now business process reimagination... It's not about making your existing processes faster. It's about asking that very uncomfortable question that if I was to think about my org design or think about my processes now in this day and age with AI, with agentic AI, with all these tools available to me, would I do the same thing or would I do it differently?
Most enterprise processes work. They just don't scale. Traditionally, processes are designed as linear handoff between roles and teams. One team does their job, passes on to the other, and there's like a queue of things that happen, right?
Now, the structure made sense when information was scarce, systems were siloed, and there was cost to coordination. But now things are not the same. Today, that same structure creates friction, not because people aren't capable, not at all, but that's because work is artificially sequenced. It doesn't need to be. Things can run in parallel.
Let's bring this to life through an example of commercial lending. Now commercial lending as a traditional process is a very sequential process. You know, you have your underwriters doing your underwriting. After that, it passes on to valuation. After that, it passes on to legal and then conveyancing. But nothing in that process actually needs those steps. Valuation doesn't need necessarily underwriting to be completed. Similarly, legal doesn't need valuation to be completed. There are so many tasks within those. processes like in valuation in legal that can happen at the same time as underwriting because again the main context which is the deal context is all there so they're all working of that same context what they really need for them to work is the shared context They also need a clear understanding of what is the decision that they are responsible for, what is their responsibility. And lastly, they very importantly need to trust that information. I think that's very important, right?
So how would this change in this new world? How would we look at things differently? The main thing is we can actually now talk about parallel intent where you're able to do things based on intention parallelly. The agents can ingest the deal documents, create that holistic context of the deal and support underwriting, valuation, legal, convincing all at the same time. Again, not for all tasks, of course, but for a lot of tasks, it can all work parallelly.
What the question now is not who goes next, what's the next team I'm passing it on to, but the question is what decision point needs to happen now, right? Like what is that decision that I need to make?
Why this matters? It matters a lot, right? Like the parallel intent is not just to make the process faster. It's also to reduce the risk from the process. When valuation and legal is looking at that information, if there are any red flags, they can actually raise it sooner, right? It can actually impact the underwriter's decision. So you're kind of doing the main bits of the process to remove the risk in an earlier state, right?
Now, when the organizations adopt this, there are three things that need to change.
One, the process ownership shifts. We're not managing handoffs, we're managing decision points.
Second is teams stop optimizing locally. You know, if you think about it, in every organization, every department is thinking about their optimization. But here we are working off the common context. So we are not optimizing just for valuation, just for legal, very important.
And the third, but the most hard, the hardest thing is the organization needs to start trusting the system for not just execution, but also decision.
Now, again, going back to episode one, we talked about. smart systems now right like this is what agentic AI helps you do it is not RPA it is smart so you have to use it in a way where it can make decisions for you which is what's different about agentic AI versus RPA and what process automation would do is it will use the same pipes but move the work faster through that pipe whereas what we're doing with agentic AI is as you saw with with how we can run parallel intents is we're changing the design of the pipes
And, you know, tools and products like Bode, Bode Biz Studio help us do that in a very quick way. But there's a catch. The parallel adaptive processes work only if the system understands the context of the organization. The relationship between all the entities, all the past decisions, like everything, right? Like it needs to have that memory and context. Without that, the agents can go fast, but they're going to stay a bit shallow. They're not going to be as deep.
That's where the next episode comes in, because once you move away from linear process, you need something else to hold the enterprise together. And that's the shared memory and context.
